A free credit card is noting more that a traditional credit card, however they have no setup fee or other usage fee. Some free credit cards may allow you to use the credit card for a while before having to pay interest on the credit card balance. Most credit cards now can claim to be free credit cards, even if only temporarily. Be careful of how the usage of "free" is implemented. Your free credit card may be free for only the first year, or have zero interest for the first month, or many other "free" incentives that change over time and are not "free" forever. The word "free" is a big hook, and you should read the fine print before signing up for a not-so-free free credit card.
