A gas credit card is like a normal credit card, however it is designed to provide incentives for the usage of the gas credit card. In particular, the incentive is to receive either free gas or discounted gas, as a reward for using the gas credit card issuer's product. For all practical purposes, a gas credit card functions similar to a traditional credit card, but catered specifically for the acquisition of gasoline. Gas credit cards may, or may not, be associated with a major credit card brand, such as Visa or MasterCard.
